When will the Sholinganallur metro station open?
Not yet fixed. The OMR stretch of Corridor 3 was targeted for late 2026 and is now tracking to 2027, with Sholinganallur itself reported around March 2027. It is being built as the corridor's only interchange, so it is more complex than the other stations here. Treat any date as a target and check CMRL.
Is Sholinganallur a good area for a PG?
It's the most convenient address on OMR if you work at ELCOT SEZ, TEK Meadows, TECCI Park or Futura Tech Park, and it has the corridor's best food. The costs are the junction traffic in the evening peak, live metro construction, and heavy dependence on tanker water.
How bad is traffic at Sholinganallur junction?
It's the corridor's worst. Four roads converge and metro construction has narrowed some approaches. Make the trip from a shortlisted PG to your office once at 6:30pm before signing, and add fifteen minutes to any estimate that crosses the junction.
