A university and a teaching-hospital economy in one junction town.
VIT Chennai and Chettinad Health City are both here, which makes PG demand student- and healthcare-shaped rather than IT-shaped. It's also where OMR meets the road west to GST.

A campus, a hospital cluster, and the road west out of the corridor.
VIT and Chettinad between them set the rhythm of the area: who's around, when things are open, and what the local PGs are built for.
The Vandalur–Kelambakkam road is the corridor's southern connection to GST Road, which makes this a more useful base than its distance from the offices suggests.
The junction carries a proper market rather than just service-road shops, which is unusual this far south.
North is the corridor. West is the road out of it.
Every PG is checked before it's listed, and every rent figure comes with the number of rooms behind it.
It's the closest area to the campus and much of the local market is built around student and hospital-staff schedules. VIT has its own hostels, so PG demand comes mainly from day scholars, students who've moved out after first year, and interns on placement.
SIPCOT at Siruseri is a reasonable journey north. Anything at Sholinganallur or beyond is a long commute at peak hour: the deep-south stretches have been reported at around thirty minutes each way more than the near-north ones.
A share of local rental demand comes from hospital staff, students and patient attenders, which shows up as shorter stays, different peak seasons and PGs set up for irregular hours. It also means a large hospital is genuinely close.
